How to cancel ChatGPT Plus

TL;DR

Step 1 — Open Settings inside ChatGPT

Step 2 — Subscription → Manage

Click Subscription in the left menu, then Manage. You'll be redirected to Stripe's billing portal — that's normal, OpenAI uses Stripe.

Step 3 — Cancel plan

Click Cancel plan. Confirm. The portal shows the exact date your Plus access ends. Your account stays — just drops to the free tier.

Step 4 — Cancelling on iOS or Android

If you signed up inside the mobile app, OpenAI cannot cancel for you:
